Hi all. Welcome to the first official post to my minor hockey web blog. This is my first attempt at blogging and I'm sure that things will run smoother and have a more professional look as the season goes on and as I gain more experience with this blogging concept.

The Mission of the Guelph Junior Storm Hockey Blog
This blog is meant to be a vehicle for sharing information of a positive nature, principally photographs. I hope to involve a variety of people as contributors. Anybody interested in contributing should contact me. All posts will be edited. I remain determined not to let this blog become a vehicle for discussing controversial issues or for second guessing the coaching staff. Please bring it to my attention if I start to stray from these ideals.

Strong Showing in Wonderland
Competing under the name Guelph Pro Hockey, the core group that will make up this year's Major PeeWee AAA team competed in the CCHA Wonderland Tune Up tornament (http://www.cchasports.com/asp/results.asp). This year's team features a number of new additions and a new coaching staff. A warm welcome to all!
The team competed hard and fared well. Guelph went 3 and 0 in the qualifying round defeating the Mississauga Rebels (6th in the GTHL last year!) in the process.
Sunday morning, the Rebels rebounded, defeating Guelph 3 to 1 in a closely contested match. The Rebels then went on to defeat the Toronto Rifles (Markham Majors), another strong GTHL team, 5 to 1 in the final and to win the tournament (final results - http://www.cchasports.com/2007PCWResults-final.htm ). There is a good chance we will see these teams again as the year progresses.
As things transpired, I was not required on the bench and able to take a number of photographs.

For those interested, these can be viewed at the link - http://photobug-guelph.smugmug.com/gallery/3344076 The photo gallery should play as a slideshow. Comments are welcomed. As the season unfolds, I will try to include shots of all players.
Congratulations to the team for the strong showing! We are looking forward to the upcoming season.
