Team jersey washing directions:
-the crimson dye will bleed into the white areas, making the white pink, unless you following the following directions to set the dye!

FYI - the crimson jersey may bleed into the white fabric - scotchguard the crest if u want to keep it nice - then when u do wash the jersey - separate load - cold water and 1 cup of white vinegar to set the crimson dye - should be fine to wash with other items later on - the vinegar will prevent the colours from bleeding into each other

Mouthguards

As player speed and strength increase, it becomes increasingly important that all protective equipment be of good quality and fit properly. A proper fitting, well maintained mouthguard will help to reduce the risk of injury to teeth and structures around the mouth as well as helping to reduce the risk/severity of concussions.

There are three basic types of mouth guards: stock (off the shelf) pieces, “boil and bite” mouthguards and dental, custom mouthguards. A good, easy to understand discussion of these is found at the Animated-Teeth.com site
-site

While the relative merits of the different types of guards can be argued, it is generally thought that custom fitted guards offer the best level of protection. These mouthguards also tend to be worn correctly as opposed to becoming a “chewing device” (as is evident in some of the pictures).

The major knock against custom mouthguards is the cost. Dr. Jim Fox has generously offered to fit team members for mouth guards (and will deliver the mouthguard to the rink!). Parents can call Dr. Fox’s office at 519-837-0305 and speak to either Karen or Lynn. They will try to arrange a time that is convenient for a fitting.

This is a free service, kindly offered by Dr. Fox, that may well reduce the risk of serious injury. I would encourage everyone to take advantage of this.

Count Down to Season Opener vs Halton

Co-op Cup photos have just been added.

Blog style and colour have been changed to make for easier reading.

The team's preparation for meaningful game action continues. Thanks to manager Art, we now have:
..........September's schedule -schedule
..........Our season (games) schedule -schedule
..........Our Anticipated Tournaments -list
These files have been posted under "Latest Schedule Links" under a new heading on the right side of the page titled "Important Links".

The response to the new jerseys has been quite positive. The "big club", the junior A Storm, will debut their jerseys at the team's home opener on September 21st. I believe we will be the first Junior Storm club to wear the new jerseys in game action (should make for some interesting photos!). I would encourage folks to explore the Co-op cup links on the right side. It seems that a strong collection of teams will be competing this year.

September 17th is our season opener vs. Halton Hills. We have had very limited success against this team in the past. With our new approach and players, I believe this year will be a different story!

Go Storm Go !!!
